Dr Fadima Cheick Haidara

Dr Fadima Cheick Haidara has vast experience in clinical research. She received her MD from the Faculté de Medecine, de Pharmacie et d’Odonto-Stomatologie, in Bamako and, since 2006, has been responsible for the daily operations of the Advanced Primary Health Care Research and Clinical Trials Department at CVD-Mali. During that time, Dr. Haidara has played a central role in trials of the MenAfrivac vaccine, sponsored by the Meningitis Vaccine Project, and in the live, oral, pentavalent rotavirus vaccine project (Rotateq) sponsored by Merck.

During the Ebola outbreak in Mali in 2014, Dr Haidara headed Technical Operations at the Centre for Emergency Operations in Mali and took on the first Ebola Phase 1 trial in the country. More recently, Dr. Haidara has been working on azithromycin studies to combat severe diarrhoea, in collaboration with WHO, and on CVD-Mali’s SANTÉ and LAKANA trials.
